Heading off for the week

Well, we are finished packing and are getting ready to go to bed. At the last minute we decided to board all of the cats as well as the dog. It just started getting more and more complex with trying to figure out the best way to keep Maisy from doing her business on the white carpet when she was tired of using the litter box, how to keep Alex from attacking the other two cats when he was feeling cagey after being in for a few days, how to handle the cats slipping past the neighbor when she comes to check up on them, if they got out; how we would deal with them being picked up by animal control when the witchy neighbor gets mad that they are outside. Just too many conflicts to contend with. Rather they are put up at the vet's office until our return.

I am excited, but I am having those last minute second thoughts about what I have packed. One of these days I will get a check list system figured out.

I am not doing well in my career counseling class. I got an 80 on my midterm. What's bad is that I saw some of my classmates' grades and everyone did worse than that. I spent an hour last night going over the fundamentals of the Myers-Briggs, did a few exercises, etc. It's amazing to me that I can teach the class, but I can't get a decent grade for the life of me. Kind of sad that the one class that directly relates to what I've been doing since I got my BA is going to be the downfall of my lofty GPA. I'm waiting now to see how I did on my 8 page paper that was turned in last night.

I'm going to sign off now. There won't be a lot of news from me until I get back. I saw that the ship has internet access at .75 a minute, so I won't be taking them up on that. Just think of spending close to $10 for 13 minutes online? That's insane.

I hope all of my American friends have a blessed Thanksgiving. I will be thinking of all of you over the holiday (with a margarita in one hand and a turkey leg in the other, lol, I am not a margarita fan... that just seems to be the thing to drink after being in Mexico though! Most likely I will be drinking tea!)

Was watching a programme on CBS last night and instrantly thought of yourself, Beth. Aah, the nostalgia. The Cold Case song as they took away the guilty parties at the end was 'Alone' by Heart. Your karaoke version was quite brilliant in 1994 IIRC.
