Tiring Tuesday

Hi all, I have been in knots today because Keith went to the oncologist because of some problems. His x-ray from when they diagnosed him with pneumonia was a little off, he has been itching, he seems to stay sick... I went to work in a daze today and came home with a headache.

The results are that Dr. Boyd is going to have Keith's CT scan pushed up from April to sometime in the next week or so. He said he didn't see anything with his neck (I didn't notice the swelling this AM, so maybe it was something harmless), but he said it was the other symptoms such as the itching and his lingering cold/sickness that has him concerned. Keith said he didn't really say much about the x-ray.

I looked at what was written by the pathologist regarding the x-ray and it said with the exception of a prominent aortic arch everything appeared within normal limits. That was better than hearing that Keith had masses in his chest. It was because of the aortic arch that the radiologist was recommending a CT scan.

So, today I skipped lunch at work again so I could leave at 1:30. I really wanted to stick it out, do an hour lunch someplace and leave a little later. Wanted may be too strong of a word. I had fully intended on doing that on the days Hannah has an afterschool activity. I just couldn't today. I felt like I was on edge all day, somewhere between tears, restlessness, and intermittent boredom.

I worked on job postings today, so I picked up another of the "skills" that I needed to master for the position. It was good to have something to keep my mind somewhat occupied. When I finished though, I was back to just THINKING.

It appears that Keith is going to have more structure in his work day now, so he will be taking an hour lunch for himself now, and will typically be finishing work around 5:30. I'm excited about the possibility of actually EATING dinner with him instead of cooking dinner for Hannah and I, then having him come in some time around 8. Or, Hannah and I waiting on him so we can go out and it just gets later and later. We haven't been eating out as much because of that, which should be a good thing (we'd get home and it would be past Hannah's bedtime). The only drawback is that I am a lousy cook. Please send me recipes. I don't really have any. I just do a lot of stuff that is frozen, etc. Not to the point that we're eating frozen dinners, but you know what I mean? The convenience foods. I have always said, if there's risk involved in the making, that is cooking. Making a frozen pizza is cooking because you could burn it.

Okay, keith's home. Let me head off.
