How everything worked out

Well, on Friday, I had my first resume appointment. You won't believe it, but the one person I met with turned out to be a dislocated worker, a mid-life career changer, and a displaced homemaker whose spouse had passed away all in one. I wasn't supposed to meet with this person, but my boss ended up having a meeting. When she came back, she didn't bother us because she said it seemed like we had hit it off well.

I just kind of teared up as the person told me everything because I knew that God had led me to that point for this reason if nothing else. Every bit of my previous experiences came into play in helping this individual. We sat together for about 3 hours as I explained everything, not just resumes, but ONet codes, job search methods, letter writing, informational interviews. I was just totally amazed at the way it came about and it was "powerful". It was as if I had doubts of my role in the office wiped away. Sure, I'm still going to have a lot of mundane, but there are people here who need my help.

I don't anticipate future appointments taking 3 hours. This was a special circumstance.

By the time I finished up, it was basically time for me to wrap up my day in general. I ended up leaving a half hour early and not taking lunch so I got home in time to snap off a picture of Hannah getting off the school bus. Unfortunately, she didn't know I was taking a picture, so I had a hard time getting her and the school bus in the single shot I captured.

It's raining. It's icky. Yesterday, Hannah went to a tea party at another little girl's house in the neighborhood. She had a nice time. After we picked her up, we had reservations for Ruth's Chris Steak House where our realtor had given us a gift card shortly after we moved in. We had a nice dinner and then came home and watched a pay-per-view movie. Very laid back type of day.

Today we are going to do a couple of smaller house projects. We're going to put some wire cube/shelving in the closet in the spare bedroom for Hannah to use as toy storage so her room won't appear as cluttered. I was telling Keith that is about the only thing I wish was a little different about the house. We don't have a "coat closet" downstairs, then the only closet upstairs is the very narrow one outside of Hannah's bathroom for towels and washclothes. We can't even really fit extra sheets and blankets in it, so I have put a lot of that in my closet.
