Hope everyone has had a great start to the week of Thanksgiving. We had a really nice Saturday here. Started out with horseback riding lessons for Hannah with Keith and I went to help set up for the afternoon end of the football cheer season banquet. They met up with me there at noon and we had a nice time. Hannah received an award from the "cheer commissioner" for being the "Most Improved" on her squad. There were only 5 awards, so it was kind of a big deal. I was really happy for her because she enjoyed herself on the squad even though it turned out not to be a huge social connection for her. She got a framed certificate that will go on the wall next to her black belt credentials :)
The 2 cheer moms were touched by the albums the girls made. I had Hannah give them to them after lunch and everyone was excited to see them. The moms got me a travel mug with Lindt truffles in it for recording videos and taking pictures each week (even though it was REALLY Keith doing all the videos, and I gave him credit). I thought that was really nice of them.
After the banquet, Keith and Hannah went to pick up "B" for an afternoon at the mall and a sleepover. We are going to High Point, NC to meet up with Heather at the half way point to see "New Moon" together (although Keith would tell you we are just going to that particular theater to get "green slushies").
I bought a "Nikon D90 for Dummies" book at the mall and hope to figure out the functions and features of the camera since I've had it for a year and still can't do much more than point and shoot. There are so many options, and I know that I would get better shots if I figured out what I was doing with the actual camera.
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is this Thursday! We will be heading to Alabama on Wednesday to have Thanksgiving with my mother-in-law. It will be the first time we will be seeing her since she moved from Florida. After we finish up there, we will be going to see my parents' new house just south of the Alabama border and then on to my sister's in Panama City. We will head home from there on Saturday and take a breather in Atlanta near where we used to live so we won't have a solid 9 1/2 hours in the car. It's going to be a lot of driving for a 4 day trip, but I am looking forward to seeing everyone's homes. Never been to any of their houses before. We are blessed to have a big, but relaxing Christmas week coming up, so it is great that we will have Thanksgiving with our families. I am really excited!
I put in contacts today for the first time in about a year. We had to stop at Walgreen's on the way home because I no longer had a case or solution to take them out and put them away! My glasses are in bad shape and I am a year over due for an appointment. I wish I could get over my anxiety about having my eye clamped open -- I'd love to get lasik. The thought just freaks me out though.
Need to hop back on the better eating bandwagon. I've been backsliding and am getting bummed out that the scale's not showing a lower weight after a few weeks. It's not a surprise, but it would be nice if the weight would magically disappear.
I let Hannah get a second ear pierced hole today and I got the cartiledge in my right ear pierced. I've been wanting to have it done for a loooong time and decided to go ahead and do it today. Hopefully Hannah's earrings won't be an issue at cheer practice.

Hey there! Congrats to Hannah on her award! Something more to scrap about! Which camera do you have, maybe I can help with tips to try - is it like the Canon 40D? that's what I'm currently using and though I'm still learning, I do a lot with aperture priority mode.
