Guarding my words

I was too fast to say not much was happening yesterday. Not much is happening today, but that's because I am home with Hannah who is sick :( She alerted Keith to her troubles when he got up in the night and he told me this morning when he got up for work that she had swollen lymph nodes in her neck again and was having a lot of trouble with congestion. She just felt awful. I sent out emails to my employer and my client for today and then waited until 8 am sharp to get through to the pediatrician's office. I lucked out with an 8:50 appointment with her primary pediatrician in the group. She was so out of it that I could scarcely get her dressed and out the door for the appointment. We got to see one of the other 2 Hannah's from cheer grandmothers. She happens to be her pediatrician's nurse.

A look in the ears, at the throat, up the nose and a strep test later and she was diagnosed with a sinus infection. We took the prescription to drop off at CVS and went to Dunkin Donuts drive thru while waiting. She stayed asleep the whole time. When we got home, she soaked in the bathtub because she was achy and then slept some more. She has been asleep for most of the day.

I'm just sitting and feeling bad for her. What a time to get sick. I mean, is it ever convenient to be sick? Probably not, but she just tends to fizzle out around vacation times. The good news is that she will be content to sleep for a good portion of the drive tomorrow and that she is not contagious. Hopefully the antibiotics will help by the time we are actually visiting.
