Halfway through

Hannah has enjoyed basketball cheer practice so far and is excited about the try outs on Friday. She seems confident, but told me in the car today that she will be "fine with it" if she doesn't make the squad. Part of me would like a break from the shuttling her around and the games, but the other part of me is just glad she found something she enjoys that much and is willing to devote so much of her free time to it without getting tired of it and complaining.

I had a nice, unexpected, day off today and did a little scrapbooking after some errand running. Hannah will have both sets of cheer practice tomorrow and I will use that time to tidy the house for Heather's arrival on Friday evening.

I have a follow up with my doctor on Friday afternoon to check in with how things have been going for me in general. I'm looking forward to weighing on that scale there because it registers the weight I've been using as my absolute. I don't trust my bathroom scale.

We had an awesome surprise yesterday. A friend of Keith's wife is pregnant and they won't be using their timeshare at Christmas and they offered it to us. All we need to do is pay for our airfare! What a blessing! Of course, I'm a little melancholy about the less traditional holiday festivities, but even Hannah is excited about it, so we will wake up Christmas morning someplace other than home. This worked out even better because my mom told me that she cannot come visit after Christmas as she had hoped. She is taking off the week prior to go to my sister's graduation from nursing school. It seems to work out for everyone.

We rarely took vacations before moving to NC. We may have gone on a weekend trip to the beach or something small, but rarely did we go off for more than a day or two. Keith usually couldn't take time off from work and money was tight. We didn't even go on a honeymoon of any sort after our wedding. I just went home with Keith to his apartment that became "our" apartment that day. Keith works so hard, I'm so glad that he has put aside more time for himself and for the family since moving here.

Keith's watching some TV shows on the DVR and catching up on the fall television schedule. Even though I didn't work today, it was still a long, full day so I'm ready to call it a night. Work in the morning then my weekend begins!
