I'm having fun with Heather. The walk was a huge success on Saturday. Team Hannah raised $575 (pictures soon to come). We had a 2 mile walk through some parts of uptown Charlotte that we have been to before and may start looking for some more things to do there as we get more comfortable wtih the city. It wasn't too hot and the rain cooperated by holding off all day (not like Friday at all). I was so proud of Keith with his white balloon, and Hannah with her red. She walked up to the person I have been corresponding to via e-mail since her birthday (that organizes the Charlotte walk) and Hannah asked, "Are you Jenny?" She responded, "yes, are you Hannah?" :) After the walk, we had dinner at Uno's. Despite some order taking malfunction (penne translates as panini, then Keith's side salad was swimming in dressing), the food was good.
Yesterday, Heather and I went to the Carolina Panthers' game. They won 24-9. Another point of excitement is that we took the Lynx, "light rail", to the stadium. It is almost as far for me to drive to the station as it is to drive into uptown, but you just wouldn't believe the hassle of parking (some lots charging $30!!!). For $2.60, we each had a round trip ticket, easy parking, and no worries. I got a sunburn :( but it's not too bad as I saw it coming and was able to get some sunscreen. I don't know what I was thinking when I left the house, I only put it on my face.
As soon as we got to the car, I phoned Keith and we arranged a quick switch at home to all pile into his truck to head to Dave & Buster's. Heather and I played the mindless "drop-the-coin-in-the-shoot-and-knock-the-other-coins-off" game while Hannah and Keith raced around playing similar. Hannah redeemed her winnings secretly to get a pair of "beach shoes" for Heather, which was really sweet and thoughtful.
Hannah's off to school today now and that leaves Heather and I to do a little shopping this afternoon. Mom and mom-in-law birthdays today and tomorrow, dad's retirement is tomorrow, and Heather is going to check out some possible things for her cousin's wedding. I told Hannah we would look for a pair of long pants for her school uniform today. Keith bought her 4 pairs of capri length that come above her ankle and she was freezing the other day. The weather is going to be beautiful again today though. That bought us some time.
