Happy 4th of July

I hope everyone has a safe 4th and gets to do something fun. Last year, we didn't do much so we decided to venture out in search of excitement and fireworks. Yesterday, we finally decided to try out the US National Whitewater Center to do some rafting, maybe let Hannah do some climbing, hang out for a concert and the fireworks. Our reservations aren't until 6 tonight, so we have plenty of time to enjoy the afternoon. Both Keith and Hannah are still asleep right now.

I got a couple of yards of plastic yesterday and cut out "covers" for the dining room chair cushions. Just a step up from a tea towel or something over the new fabric. It doesn't look posh, but it's removable and it should help with the wear and tear the cats have inflicted in the past. At $1 per chair, it was a bargain. Keith had bought some actual covers that were just as tacky and 10x the cost. They didn't fit well enough for me to keep them. I told Keith I could do something a little less conspicious for cheaper so we sent them back!

I'm still not quite back to feeling like myself, but getting myself in gear to do some projects yesterday helped keep me from sitting around thinking about it. I "cut in" around the molding on the stairs to facilitate the process of hopefully getting the stairwell painted soon and I began trying to tame one of the boxwoods that has become overgrown in the front yard.

The new battery for my Roomba arrived the other day and I was so excited to get to use it again. It's back to running on full power and does a lot of the day to day vacuuming for me. With 3 cats, a dog, a child, and a husband, I need all the help I can get!

That sounds like a fun 4th - can't wait to hear more about it and tell me about the roomba - is this something I need to look into??
