Weekend's End

Hi, we had an interesting Saturday. We took Hannah and a friend of hers from school out for an afternoon of fun. We have (literally) $90 in Olive Garden gift cards, so we made a stop there for lunch. After that, we headed to the movie theatre to check on the times. We planned to see the Water Horse since we didn't go at Christmas. We had over an hour and a half to spare, so we went to Justice and the girls bought matching outfits with their own money (sound familiar, Elissa?). They bought baby pink satin pants and white and pink striped cotton shirts. After the drama of finding the right outfit and trying on clothes, we had just enough time to play Arctic Thunder and Dance Dance Revolution Extreme at the theatre before going in to the movie. Uh, I should say the girls played, Keith and I watched. We enjoyed the Water Horse.

When it was all over, Hannah was invited to sleep over at the friend's house giving Keith and I an evening to watch a movie at home that didn't have cartoon characters in it and that was that. Picked up Hannah at 11 and have had a pretty uneventful day since.

I got tired of being bored and came to scrapbook. Here's one of my layouts. I'm also putting in a photo of Hannah with her sign before we had to reliquish the title of Gymnast of the Week on Thurs. and bring the sign back. It was cold and rainy that day and has continued to be a little over cast with occasional rain ever since.
I also finished reading The Secret Life of Bees over the weekend. I liked it. It made even more sense to me now that I'm living in the Carolinas and had gone to grad school in the vicinity of the area the story was based around. It's very much a commentary on Southern culture. Had I read it before moving here, I may have dug in my heels and refused! lol It is set in the mid-60s at the time of the Civil Rights movement. Things are still not the way they were in New York here in the south and I forget that it's different here.
