Hi again

Hannah brought home her 3rd report card today. It is the first time in her entire school career that she received all "S"'s (satisfactory)for her Work Study Habits. It wasn't uncommon for her to have a N (needs improvement) or to see a comment alluding to her inability to stay on task, finish her work, or keep still and quiet. Her teacher wrote; "Hannah has made much improvement this grading period. She is much more focused and attentive :)" So all is well on that front today. Her math grade dropped. I am going to have to try to help her more with some outside practice at home in math and writing if she is going to pass the stupid standardized state test at the end of the year. Failing any part of that would result in summer school or retention regardless of her end of the year course grades. It all hinges on one test. Gotta love the No Child Left Behind junk that just serves to skew curriculum, teaching practice, and course content. Sigh.

I am really proud of Hannah though. She just moves forward.

I had mentioned that I'm listening to the last installment of the Outlander series on CD right now as I travel to and from work. It is quite interesting as I happened to read the 3rd book while I was in Scotland and it was about Scotland. Now the story has moved forward and takes place in North Carolina. Even though I do not think I would have enjoyed reading it, it is fun to hear mention of bits of the story that take place in Charlotte or the county I work in.

Well, I am heading off to bed. One more night and then Keith will be home.

Way to go Hannah!

I don't understand the getting left back for the results of ONE test. Crazy.
