Good morning

Keith headed out to another part of the state today for a 4 day training. We will see him back on Friday night, but not sure when. Heather may actually end up getting here before he does.

I will be meeting with my supervisor tomorrow and Thurs to get in the last 2 1/2 hours that I need to finish the internship. I have a client at 5 tonight and do plan on going in after lunch, but really any hours I put in the rest of the week are a "gift". I really didn't know how things would work out in the end, so it's fine, I ended up doing an extra 23 hours at DSS when I was there because I made a time frame commitment and sometimes would go over the hours during those days. On Friday, Hannah has a teacher work day so I will be off entirely that day.

I did get everything worked out with the "career services" hours that I will start putting in next week. It's going to work out fine. I am going to work Tues - Thurs for the most part, flexing the 10 hours that are a given around my "career transitions" appointments during the time frame that works for Hannah's school and after school schedule. It will be great. I haven't enjoyed the drive home from uptown on Fridays, so that will keep me out of the early rush traffic.

Hannah did bring home all of her homework again yesterday. I am amazed. She told me that her teacher checked behind her again and I am grateful. I will be having my start of the year conference with her on Thurs afternoon while Hannah is at KidzArt. Hopefully we will be able to figure out some way to help her. Maybe if her teacher just checks behind her initially, it will get her in a routine when she's packing up and she will be able to finally do it on her own.

Alex needs a trip to the vet. He has some stuff going on. Poor kitty. He's so funny, too. He sat and howled at the front door this morning, knowing that Hannah and I were out there, sitting on the porch, waiting for the bus. Finally, I hooked Lenny's leash on him and let him out into the yard. He wasn't thrilled with that, but I think he realized that at least he was out. Right now, it's more for his own good than anything else. There have been reports that there are 3 stray dogs wandering the neighborhood. Hannah said that a loose pitbull (and I have no idea if it was a pitbull) chased her and "C" on Sunday (yes, Sun was very eventful for Hannah between the dog and the pool incident) and they had to run through the woods and climb up on something where it couldn't get to them. Our neighbor said that loose dogs killed a cat a few weeks ago. Alex has a tendency to slip past us, but we're trying to keep them all contained.
