Hi, today I went down to Columbia and completed the paperwork to "petition for graduation". A 3 1/2 + hour drive to print my name on a line as to how I would like it to appear on my degree and then sign on the line to show that I approved of that. Less than a 3 minute process, but it had to be done in person with my advisor. Lovely. No reason that things should end any differently than they began though. Need to be consistent in SOMETHING.
With all of that said and done, I will receive my degree within 6 - 8 weeks of my practicum professor turning in this last grade for me. I was initially told that I could "march" with the Fort Jackson group in Oct, but was told today that they no longer had a graduation ceremony. The next date I could participate in commencement would be when my campus holds it in May 2008. By then I will have had my degree for more than 7 months and I may be finished celebrating by then. We will see. At the present, I'm just happy to know that my paperwork has been turned in and all I have to do is finish up the next 3 weeks of practicum. I will be finished! Whew.
Hannah forgot to bring home several key pieces of homework again last night. She did bring home everything tonight. I don't know what the deal is. She had her TV priviledges taken away as well as play time afterschool. We haven't taken away any of her activities, yet, but that will be soon to follow if she can't get her act together. Keith picked her up from TKD yesterday because I had an after hours appointment, so he got to experience that joy first hand. I took her to horseback riding lessons today and he picked her up from there because I had to head down to SC. She's still working on things now, but at least she brought it and will be able to finish it.
Things are still going swimmingly at the internship/job place. LOVE it, almost every single minute of it. What I don't love usually has nothing to do with the job, the co-workers or anything else. Today I was feeling under the weather and just had to drag myself there. I'm glad I did though, it turned into quite a productive day.
I need to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my friend Carol. Her birthday was yesterday and I didn't get to show love here.
Now I have a mental health appointment for myself that involves a bubble bath, a book, and some chocolate!
