Hello all, Hannah and I had a nice morning together yesterday then she spent the rest of the day playing while I worked on cleaning the floors downstairs. I feel like I'm always doing the floors or doing laundry. Regardless, it was a fun day. We got pedicures and had omelettes at a local diner. The weather was perfect and I was able to open some windows. Just lovely.
Today we hung out for a little while after Hannah's horseback riding lesson and then we went to the big outlet mall where we had Dave & Buster's for lunch. We went to see the movie The Last Mimzy. Keith and Hannah thought it was great. My first comment as I was leaving the theatre (while listening to Roger Waters Pink Floyd-esque closing song from the soundtrack) was that I would have enjoyed it much more had I dropped acid first. The reviews are comparing it to E.T. and cheering it on for being a great family movie. I was watching it thinking the rabbit was pretty creepy, almost demonic, communicating with this child, little girl levitating like in the Exorcist... palm reading... Okay, doing acid isn't very Christian either, lol. Seriously though. I can watch something and realize the religious implications behind it and then make a decision for myself, but I do object to my young, impressionable child being exposed to certain things without proper information. Call me a prude, but there were things in the story line that I felt could have been omitted or changed without changing the actual story.
Aside from that (and trust me, it was still fun to go to the movies with my family), we went shopping and bought Hannah 2 new spring outfits that are very colorful. I got some new clothes and Keith got a new pair of shoes. It wasn't a die hard shopping spree, the whole thing was just pretty laid back. Hannah had a $10 GC for Build-A-Bear so we stopped in there where she made "Twosie". Her beloved bear, Soozie, disappeared before we moved from Florida. I'm not sure what happened to her, but we imagine she was accidentally left someplace like a restaurant some time before the movers came to our house and we just didn't realize because of all of the jumble and shifting stuff around going on. Soozie was not a Build-A-Bear, but she was about the same size and often went shopping for clothes there. Twosie looks similar to Soozie. The last thing in the world Hannah probably needed was another stuffed animal, but, when it's Build-A-Bear and the fun of stuffing a bear is free due to a gift card, how do you say no?
Keith is going to be heading out early tomorrow morning for Tampa. He won't be back until sometime Tuesday night. Just to be on the safe side, our student assistant from work is going to babysit Hannah for me. With Tuesday night classes running so late, I don't want to risk Hannah having to stay at a neighbor's house too late in the evening.
Sorrell, the mouse, is doing quite well these days. She has been running on her wheel and eating a good bit. The first mouse of the season is always hard to say good bye to, but I'm afraid Hannah is going to have to send her back out on her way in a few days.
On that note, I'm heading off for the night!
