Another Weekend Day

and I'm still working on my rough draft to turn in on Tuesday night. I can only do things like that in spurts of an hour or two here and there. I just never have had the ability to sit and get something done in a marathon stretch (unless I wait until the very last minute, then the adrenaline kicks in and I'm good to go). I do a little here, a little there, then usually push myself to just get it done on my last day.

Now I know I'm "old". 21 years ago, all I wanted for my 16th birthday was a "real" camera. I researched the types, brands, and models. I scoured the newspapers looking at sales. Finally I came up with the right camera at the best price. For my birthday that year, family members all contributed towards my grand purchase and then my dad took me in to the city to buy it. Here, 21 years later, I opted to return a camera in exchange for a vacuum. In my April 15th post, I came to realize that vacuuming is an ongoing chore. With 3 cats and a dog (not to mention the humans in the house), there is always dust and fuzz to clean up, even minutes after I put away the vacuum. I got a Roomba Scheduler to try out downstairs. I have a Rainbow, and I really do like it, but it's just a pain in the neck to set up and take apart every time I use it when it has come down to needing it daily in this bigger house with all of the pets. I'm going to continue to use that upstairs on the carpets, but the Roomba will keep the living area downstairs pet hair free (I'm hoping, otherwise, it goes back to the store shortly). We went to a self-cleaning kitty litter pan a few months ago when we had to start keeping the cats in 24/7 and that has been a huge time saver, and a lifesaver in general. I'm hoping that having a vacuum that can turn itself on an hour before I get home in the afternoon, run around and vacuum, then return itself to the charger and get ready to do it again the next day, will be a blessing. I'm hoping the Roomba will take care of some of the day to day stuff, not necessarily a deep cleaning type of thing.
