We had a tiring drive on Tuesday night after I got back from class in SC. We made it to the hotel outside King's Dominion though and then got a late start on Wednesday. We had no problems maneuvering through the park though. There were hardly any lines for the rides and Hannah went on several over and over and over... There were some medium sized rollercoasters that she gave a try. She loved it.
We finished up at King's Dominion -- it was SOOO hot, that was the only down side to the day, and headed towards DC around dinner time. Our hotel is very nice, not over the top, but clean and comfortable. No complaints.
Today we spent the entire day at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I will have to post some photos when we get home. Hannah LOVED the insect exhibit. She held a huge hissing cockroach, a grasshopper, and a tobacco worm. Tomorrow we are going to plan on going to the zoo. Hopefully the weather will be nice and not too horribly hot. It was raining today, but since we were indoors for the greater part of it, it was fine.
We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was almost as much as our lunch in the less than stellar cafeteria in the Smithsonian ($39! for a kid's hot dog meal, 2 slices of pizza, drinks and cupcakes). Crazy madness.
On that note, I'm heading to bed!
