Super Bowl Sunday

We're going to be cheering on the "Stillers" tomorrow. I have enough friends from Pennsylvania that I know where my loyalties must lie.

Nothing exciting going on. At first I was asking Keith for a little get together, but he is not crazy about being "social", so I let him off the hook. Now that our heads are a little preoccupied with the recent scans, I am sort of glad that we don't have the added stress of entertaining company tomorrow. We will probably be heading to the grocery store in the early afternoon for munchies. Hopefully we will get to church in the morning.

We rented "Kicking & Screaming" tonight and it was really cute. It was a nice little family sort of movie. It's the second one we have rented from "Movies on Demand", the version of pay per view. We don't watch enough to warrant a video mail program, going to the video store is usually a hassle. We don't bother with premium cable channels.

I've been keeping busier at work and enjoy it. I've actually critiqued a half dozen or so resumes, even if I didn't sit and talk to all of the students. I changed out a bulletin board, called employers, posted jobs... it's starting to feel a little more like I'm getting a feel for things.

I'm still kicking around the idea of driving to Columbia, SC to attend Webster. I could get my "research & evaluation" class out of the way in Spring 2. That was a class I was dreading. If I can do that every other Saturday for 4 meetings, the other 10 classes I have left should be a cake walk? I looked at Capella's online program again and the classes would be $350 more each. I looked at another program at Winthrop, about 1/2 hour away and a state school, and they only offer a MEd in counseling... UNCC is a traditional day program. I am trying to make an educated decision and I keep coming back to Webster as the place I need to finish up. I also know that right now is not the time to decide. I will wait until we hear how Keith is, then I will be able to think more clearly.

Rumor has it that it may snow within the next few days. With the knowledge that yesterday it was 66 degrees, I don't know how that's possible. Of course, today it was probably not more than 40.

We're talking about what to do for Hannah's birthday. It is just 4 Saturdays away. Should we do something extraordinary with just a friend or two, or go the traditional party route? I don't think we would do a party here at the house for a big group of children. Unlike in Florida, we don't have a backyard with a play set, sandbox and treehouse. The past two years we had her party away from the house and it was so much easier. We don't have the friends and family to show up like we did in Florida either. Don't really know the children or parents of the children that are in her class. That brings us back to the one or two friends idea. Last year we invited her entire class to a farm, the year prior we went and painted pottery and invited all of the girls from her class. If anyone has suggestions, I would be open to it.
