Death in the family

I got news that my Uncle Wayne died yesterday. He was 50. He and my Uncle Bill are still living in the house that everyone grew up in (my cousin Bill is in the process of buying it). Bill worked days, Wayne worked nights, so he was home alone. A friend came to see him and found him on the kitchen floor. We don't know what happened. I am shocked.

The last time I saw him was when he came to Florida with my grandfather.

The last time I talked to him was when my grandfather died. He had told me that my grandfather would have wanted me to go to class (instead of the funeral -- I was preparing for my first grad school final) and that if anyone else had something to say about that... well, he said a curse word in true New Yorker fashion.

His funeral is on Monday. I am not sure what I will do. Flights are over $1,200 on short notice, so I will probably drive up with Hannah over the weekend. My mom is flying today, she will be able to give me some more of the details so I can figure out what to do.

I am so sorry for your loss. Way too young to die. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Travel safely.

Hugs
