Home From Jamaica!

I've actually been back for 3 days now, but I've been so sick that I couldn't put together the words to post anything here. Went to the doctor on Monday and she said I had a sinus infection, and was starting a double ear infection, at the very least. I still managed to get Hannah off to cheer practice and then had to run to WalMart to get a fan for Keith (his broke in transport). Yesterday, I didn't even get out of bed though. Today I plan to return to reality and will try to finish up the unpacking later in the day. Back to work tomorrow.

We had a really nice vacation, but we felt it wasn't worth the extra money for the "all-inclusive" as we enjoyed the outings we took more than anything we did at the resort. The food was just so-so and Keith and I don't drink enough to make it worthwhile to have the alcohol included as well. Hannah enjoyed the waterslides and pool, but the beach was kind of pitiful. Three days we were there, it was inundated with algae and seaweed to the point that the water was actually thick. It smelled like decaying fish. We did sign up for snorkeling excursions just a little bit out from the hotel by glass bottom boat to a reef and were excited to see a lion fish, puffer fish, and a moray eel. We saw more varieties of colorful tropical fish than the best saltwater aquariums around as well.

Hannah's favorite trip was to Dolphin Cove where she got to swim with the dolphins and got to ride on them. They pushed her up out of the water on their noses, it was quite a picture.

We climbed Dunn's River Falls, which was quite an experience. I thought it was fun, but Hannah was completely stressed out that Keith or I were going to hurt ourselves through the whole thing.

After climbing the falls, we had our taxi driver take us to a public beach that we had passed which was a lot nicer and cleaner than the one at our resort.

It was a very relaxing trip though and the staff at the resort were really great. I was a little nervous when we got there and on the way to our room, we got stuck in the elevator with the bellhop and another family between floors. We had to climb out of the elevator and I cut up my leg. It was midnight and had been a long day, so I didn't take that as a good sign. Other than that though, things were okay. Hannah danced in the resort's talent show one night and another night, she and Keith won the "game show" they did about how well the parents knew their children. Keith got 7 out of 10 right, when the next highest was a three way tie for 5 out of 10.

Oh I hope you feel better! The trip sounds wonderful - all the excursions! Can't wait to see pics! Uhm except the elevator! Yikes, that would have freaked me out!
