Thursday Hello

Wow, I've had the strangest week. I've had probably a half a dozen requests for appointments for next week - all on Tuesday or Thursday! I usually do my community appointments on Wednesdays and have Tues/Thurs set aside to help out students that drop in without an appointment. When things are slow, I use that time to do some of my administrative stuff, return calls and email, that sort of thing. Well, wow, it looks like I have NO ONE for Wed, but lots of appointments Tues and Thurs, so I am going to go in on Wed for the students, I guess. It's just odd how things come in patterns like that. The first year at this college, I set my community day for Tues and had Hannah in afterschool care that one day per week. I needed to get two appointments that day to pay the child care bill and break even. Well, more and more people wanted Wed instead of Tues, so last year I switched it. I am wondering if I will need to change my schedule again?

I've been doing a great job with my eating habits this week and getting back into some sort of an at home routine by myself again. I admit to eating about 5 peanut M&M's this afternoon, I just couldn't help myself! I am ready to break the next 10 lb barrier though.

Hannah is into her own routine, it seems. She went to the new tumbling class last night and it was a much better fit for her than the one she went to last week. She did a front flip! No hands involved. The first time she tried, she sprung forward like a frog and landed flat on her face (on a big soft mat, no injury except maybe a little to her pride), but the second time she nailed it. I was so happy to see her being challenged without being frustrated. When school cheer is over, she is talking about what she wants to try next. I am thinking, "maybe we could just stick to cheer at the gym and horseback riding and give me a rest", but I know we will be doing something in that space. Maybe not overscheduling, but there will be a new hobby. I love letting her try new things. Think of all of the scrapbook supplies I could use for, oh, I don't know, if she started playing soccer. That's a biggie in the supply world, lol. Just kidding. I don't need to buy supplies for the next decade. We already tried soccer at age 4. She sat down next to an orange cone and said, "there's only one ball and everyone wants to get it, and I'm not going to get it, so what's the point?" End of soccer career, but I did get the pictures and the embellishments at the time.

I've enjoyed my first 3 day work week, but I am glad to be home and ready for the 3 day weekend now with Keith and Hannah. I have no plans for tomorrow. I'm sure I will find something that needs to be done though. I am making progress in decluttering as always so when all else fails, I can always pick a closet, a drawer, a box, and start from there.

I had a full basket (that took up a kitchen trash bag) of scrapbook supplies that I'm donating to a women's group at a church. I am so glad that someone else will be excited about all the odds and ends I've been hoarding and keeping because I hate throwing stuff away.

Well, time to head out to pick up Hannah!
