My appointments didn't pick up for today, so I have a somewhat unexpected day off. Since the family was with me for my typical Monday madness, I will take today to do some of the errands I usually do when I'm on my own. Grocery shopping is a priority today, but I'm happy to say that the laundry is in check as I managed to get it all squared away on Monday anyway.
Hannah's plugging away like a trooper. She had a "big" project due on the 18th that she turned in yesterday. The teacher said even if it was a day early, she would give 2 points of extra credit. Hannah turned it in 10 days early! It was a fun scientific method project where she had to survey 50 other 7th graders from her school and record their responses, graph it out and explain why she believed they chose what they did and why that supported or rejected her hypothesis. Kids were doing "which is your favorite gum", "what is your favorite color", stuff like that. Hannah comes up with, "If you were a kitchen item, what would you be? Fork, spoon, plate, bowl, spatula" Only Hannah. She predicted that most kids would be a plate because, "When you are a plate, you don't get saliva on your head and you don't have to do anything, it's all done for you. You just sit there." 43% of the kids picked spatula though. Hannah said she thought that it was because a spatula was a cooking item and was unique from the others and those kids wanted to be different. She also said that she felt a lot of kids chose which one was already the most popular and getting the most votes, or picked what their friends had since she had to collect signatures on a graph to show she didn't make the data up. She used my Cricut to cut out some letters and I showed her how to use Excel to make graphs. She put a pie chart on a paper plate and decorated the posterboard with the other kitchen items.
I ordered over 200 pictures from my Snapfish account this past weekend. There is a Labor Day special right now for free shipping. Since the shipping would have been about 50% of what I paid for all of those photos, it was a great deal. I am going to go back in today and place another order for some of the photos from CKC my aunts sent to me on CD and pick off a few photos from Facebook of some better shots of the football games, etc. They have the coupon code listed right on the home page, www.snapfish.com, so it's not a big secret. FREELABOR
It's rainy so far today and I'm going to enjoy a lazy morning with the kitties. Blessings to everyone midweek!
