9/11

Thinking of how our lives, our country, and our way of thinking has changed since the devastating events just 8 years ago. My daughter was only 4 years old and Keith was working long evening shifts and happened to be home sleeping when Elissa popped up on Yahoo messenger and told me to turn on the TV. As a New Yorker, the towers stood for "almost home" when I was coming back from a road trip and they were the signal that we were almost to the "City" when we were venturing out for a play or concert.

My prayers are with the families of those who have been directly affected by this tragedy and for those of us who watched everything play out in front of us in shock that day who have been impacted forever. To those who have gone out to bravely defend our nation, regardless of the political lines and hidden agendas that people may have associated with the actions, and for the selflessness they have displayed in trying to assure that an event such as this will never be repeated.
