I had a great visit with my mom and two aunts in Valley Forge, PA. Even though the trip was quicker than I would have liked and seemed hurried, we did have a lot of laughs and a good time catching up. We have been getting together at CKU for the past several years so when we didn't go last year, the absence of being together for such a long time was sorely felt.
It makes me feel good to know that I have three very strong women in my life. Each one so unique and different, but at the core sharing the same morals and values. Getting back together with them really helps center me, reminds me where I've come from and where I am going.
My aunt Nancy brought along two friends this year. I spent less than $100 shopping for supplies and managed to actually complete over a dozen pages at the crops in the evening. We decided that we would try to find a CKU that we could all go to again next year as CKC wasn't as much fun or as organized. It was much more a la carte, which is fine. It was the first time I've ever been to one. There will actually be a CKC here next weekend. I told Keith he should come with me for an afternoon of shopping, just to see what it's like.
Nancy and I came in 2nd place for a singing/songwriting contest. If we had won, we would have gotten a Cricut. I can't wait to see some of the crazy photos. Most of the photos from my camera were taken at Valley Forge, State Park. Here is one of my favorites that I took of my mom and her sisters in front of the old train station.
Hannah's back at competition cheer practice. Didn't the break fly by fast?
