Keith came home around 6:30, which is a very early day for him lately, and made reservations for the Melting Pot. We had a $25 coupon and it is usually a nice, laid back experience where we can sit and talk. The first opening wasn't until 8:15 and I was hungry, but could hold out since it was my favorite. We got ready and headed out a bit early. We needed to return a defective sprinkler to Home Depot and there is one by Melting Pot. Keith asked if he could show me the new building (he has been dying to show me his new office) since we had time. So, I got the grand tour of the new facility. Now he has a very nice office with a spot for his plaques and his Southeastern degree that took 15 years to complete. I'm very happy for him.
We returned the sprinkler and got a refund for a whopping $9 and change. While we were there, I decided to get a fire extinguisher because my fire fighting abilities have been put to the test one too many times in the past few years.
It was time for our dinner! Whoo hoo! We walked in, they were getting ready to seat up, walked us to our table and Keith's phone rang. It was the alarm company. The "plant" was on fire. We were JUST THERE. Anyway, he left me sitting at the Melting Pot while he went to meet the fire department. Turned out to be a false alarm as there are still glitches with the system and the wiring to the addition on the building. 45 minutes and a salad later, Keith was back and ready to fondue with me. Whoo hoo (again), DATE NIGHT RESUMES, YES!
We ate cheese and just a few minutes after our entree arrived, my phone rang (it was now 10 pm). It was Hannah. She felt sick. Could I come get her? We finished up, paid and left, sans chocolate. This is after I watched all of the other tables around me for about an hour getting their various chocolates. Sigh. Skipping chocolate is much healthier for me though. I think God was at work on that one.
We arrived at "B"s house just before 11. I was wiped out by then and Keith went to retrieve her. Hannah was asleep! She wasn't sleeping soundly though so she was happy to get up and come to the car for us to take her home. I told her last night that I adore her friend "B", but that she cannot have anymore back to back sleepovers. The second one usually results in her contending with a headache or not feeling well in general. She wears herself out. This week has been hectic, as a whole.
I'm sitting up now with Keith snoring on the far side of the bed and Hannah wedged in the middle of us. One of the questions Keith and I were kicking around last night was, "what will we do this weekend?" I think I've already had my dose of excitement last night.
