Monday Mayhem

It's back to the routine for me. We had a nice weekend. Saturday we went to the huge mall and I shopped while Hannah and Keith went to a movie. Then we caught up, saw Earth, and then had dinner at Dave & Buster's. Dinner was definitely lacking and it seems the quality and service has declined to the point that we will not be going out of our way to return. We used to go to that mall specifically to go to D&B, then the shopping was just "extra", but not so much anymore. With my new eating habits, there also isn't much that is user friendly for me. I had a salad and spent the first half of the meal trying to pick out the brown lettuce and had to ask for a separate plate so I would have a flat surface to try to cut the gristly meat on. It was just not good. Keith had to send his shrimp back immediately because they were gummy. Other than dinner, it was a good day though.

Sunday we spent the afternoon at Carowinds. They've made a couple of changes, but not by much. I still don't really know my way around there. I used to know all of Disney World like the back of my hand... We don't spend nearly as much time at Carowinds, but it's not nearly as much fun... It was good weather and the park wasn't busy. It won't pick up until the end of the month when the other half, with the water park, opens. As I mentioned though, when it's about $48 for a day plus $10 parking and $74 for the whole year, including parking and all of the "special" events, it just makes sense to get the passes.

Today I get to put the house back in order and do the laundry. I finished reading the Gemma Doyle book. I did enjoy it, but I was a little disappointed with the ending and I did think parts of it were a bit drawn out. I could see there being the possiblity of adding more to it. Bray didn't fast forward 25 to discuss what happened to the characters at least.

Hannah has her first day of cheer clinic today at school. I believe the first round of cuts will be the girls who aren't able to do a roundoff rebound or a toe touch. I like the fact that they will post the girls' numbers online instead of the humiliation of being called out in front of their peers. We'll see how it goes. As I said, there were a ton of girls lined up to turn in paperwork on Thurs.

Hey Beth! Glad you had a good weekend, yuck about your D & B experience! We weren't so happy our last visit there although we didn't eat since they told us it would be a 4 hour wait!
