Here I am again

I didn't post nearly as many as I would have liked to, but I was tired of messing around with the photos on the PC. The pictures just take forever to upload since I got the new camera.

When we came home from the cruise, the two hanging baskets of pansies on my porch were looking pretty much dead. When I lifted them to see about watering them and trying to revive them, a little bird flew out of one. I discovered a Carolina Wren's nest with 5 brown speckled eggs. I've been trying to keep an eye on mama bird, but still no baby birds. I've accepted that the plant has been sacrificed for the good of the nest.

I should have my last day of work, for the semester, next Tuesday. I usually take off for the summer until Hannah returns to school. She will be back to school the final week of August, so I may see about going back to work in September. I am excited. Things haven't been very busy for me with my community appointments, so it may be quiet for me in terms of going in to work at all for the next couple of months.

Today is report card day for Hannah and it's also time for cheer try out sign ups at her school. I need to go up at 4:15 for the parent meeting. Hopefully her report card will lend itself to participating in any school sports next year. Since she only needs an overall GPA of 77% and she is usually around a 92, I think she will be fine. I was actually disappointed that they didn't hold the kids responsible for maintaining at least a C in each class. Technically, Hannah could get an F in an important subject that could result in her being left back, but still be able to be on the squad. Makes no sense to me.

I finished my training for "SDU" and am now a "certified" instructor. That will be fun for me. When I moved here, I was busy getting situated in the house, helping Hannah acclimate to the new school and surroundings, then came the job and grad school for me. When I finally took a deep breath and graduated, Keith started finishing up his bachelor's degree. At long last, December brought his graduation and I have been enjoying the ability to do "NOTHING" for the first time in a long time. Things were a bit busy at work the last three months, but I still have down time to myself. I have a clean house, my family has clean clothes. I finally have the opportunity to be social again. Counseling doesn't exactly lend itself to making friends at work and my co-workers are at work when I have down time. Maybe I will connect with some new people through these classes. Maybe not, but at least I will have the chance to change up my routine.

All 3 cats are in bed with me again. I've been watching HGTV this morning and doing things online. I worked yesterday so today is a day off, where I would normally have left an hour ago to head to the college. I guess I should go be productive though. I do have a couple of errands today.
