Hannah's Room Revisited

I spent a very productive day running errands. Doctor's appointment first thing, as soon as Hannah got on the bus. Doctor congratulated me on losing 19 lbs since my visit in mid-January and said she suspected that my lab results will come back improved. I will learn of the outcome on Monday. Additionally, she said I still sound horrible so she prescribed another Z-pack for me to continue on the antibiotics. She said she'd hate for me to relapse over the weekend without having anything to fall back on. So, I started that back up today as well.

After the doctor's appointment, I went Easter shopping at Walmart for baskets and also a pre-Easter/road trip goody bag for Hannah for the car on Thursday. I got her a stack of teen magazines, 2 dvds and a new CD (Sugarland, lol. I'm not into it, but her long time friend at school is and I don't mind the lyrics, so I am okay with her listening to them).

Trip to the post office then on to Lane Bryant for a new pair of jeans. I've been wearing the same 2 pair for over 3 years now and aside from the fact that I needed something a little less ratty for the cruise, they were falling off of me and were no longer comfortable. I fit into 2 sizes smaller than what I had bought before Christmas. Had a quick lunch at McAllister's then on to Lowe's to purchase paint for Hannah's room and a few other fix it items.

Came home and started to work clearing her room so we can paint it tomorrow. Hannah got home shortly after me and was a big help, Keith came home just after her. Between the 3 of us, we put out 4 bags of trash, 7 bags for charity, and filled my trunk with books to donate to her old elementary school. What's even more amazing, is that most of the stuff that was "purged" isn't stuff that she had to think about. It was just things that have accumulated or that she has outgrown in one way or another.

We finished late and had a late dinner, that's why I am still up. I took her big memo board down and sprayed it with primer. We are talking about painting it the same color as her walls so it won't look as busy, but if the paint doesn't work, I will recover it with fabric (like it was) and it will still be fine.

I snapped off a few photos of her empty room. The new duvet cover on the bed was a gift at Christmas. She chose paint that is a robin's egg blue, a little bit darker than the light aquamarine in the stripes. Took a picture of the accent pillow and a close up of the duvet to give a better idea. Her room has been this color for just over 4 years now (we painted it in FL for her 8th birthday and then painted her room here the same color). She is very excited about the amount of space she has again and to be free of a lot of the clutter. I can't wait to show the "after" pictures. I should have taken more "before" pictures, truly before I even started clearing things out, but I was just in a rush to get going.
