Here we are a week later...

What a week it has been. Work is crazy with the upcoming job fair next Friday. I'm trying to juggle various appointments due to the kitchen fire repairs, and I'm gearing up for Hannah's birthday party tomorrow. 12 next Wednedsay. Amazing.

On Tuesday, we had a "resume marathon". Students were allowed to drop in and get a resume critique. I felt like I had run a marathon by the time I dragged myself out at 3 pm. I literally was talking to 3 different people at once and had 3 more people out in the hall way waiting to see me. Scary thing is that the other counselors stayed just as busy. Last night, I did a 2 hour presentation to community members interested in making a career change or needing some general resume advice. I made the mistake of wearing cute shoes that had not yet been tested for endurance. My feet were killing me by the time I was walking to the parking garage and I have a nasty blister now. I am doing the presentation again tonight and I may just go barefoot.

I got in at 9 pm and that was that. Keith did a great job getting Hannah through her chores, homework and activities. Made it easier for me to just go to bed. I have some individual counseling appointments this afternoon, but I am going to be able to go in later because I dont want to work an intense 12 hour day. Working for 12 hours isn't the problem, it's actually being "on" for 12 hours that is taxing. I am a people person, always have been, but it is so different for me to be in friendly mode, versus being in counseling mode. I think theory the whole time and try to keep my personal feelings out of it. I set my boundaries and pace myself. So, today it will be a 1ish to 9 pmish day.

Hannah's room is clean and ready for her friends to inevitably end up there after the party tomorrow. I guess that we will be home around 9 and I asked parents to pick up at 9:30. I hope it all goes off without a hitch. I spoke with the limo driver on Tuesday afternoon and everything seems to be in order. Hannah is SOOO excited and so are her friends.

No fence yet! Maybe today, although it looks like it may rain. :(

So far, we've had the light fixtures replaced in the kitchen and had someone come to measure for new blinds. The electrician took the speaker for the central sound system thing, (whatever it's called, I just call it surround sound...)to see if he could match it up. The speaker itself is fine, but the plastic rim that mounts to the ceiling has been blackened and is scorched, won't come clean.

I'm going to veg for an hour. Had a crummy night's sleep for some reason. Looking forward to round two of my seminar tonight and don't want to be all "blah".
