Tomorrow night we've invited the cheer squad to sleep over. "R" will be leaving on Wednesday for Florida and I thought it would be nice to get them all together to see her off since everything happened, then changed, so quickly. When I came up with the idea, my heart was in the right place, but after I opened my mouth, I thought, "am I nuts?" God graciously smiled on my best intentions by having only "R" and another friend available to come. If another one or two come, I will still be okay. It would have been fine with 12, but.... lol
We have made some excursion plans for our Disney Cruise at Easter, and I've booked a massage in the spaaaaaah. We've been on 2 in the past, but have never been fortunate enough to get into Palo (the special restaurant). We were able to book dinner in there on our 6th night as well. We are all really looking forward to it. We're thinking ahead now to going to one of the Beaches (all-inclusive) Resorts next Easter because the packet I requested before booking the Disney Cruise finally came in the mail and it looks wonderful. Of course, we're taking it as it comes. Too psyched up about the Disney Cruise to let anything else overshadow it at this point!
We are still kicking around the possibilities with the fence. I have no clue what I want anymore. Perhaps if money wasn't an object, I would just snap my fingers and order it to be done. Since my trust fund is non-existent, I do weigh it all out over and over again, agonizing over the decisions.
We went to see Inkheart today and I loved it. Of course, the book was better, and different, but I enjoyed the movie. I was happy that most of the characters fit the bill for me. Especially Dustfinger (on so many levels) who is a favorite of mine, right up there with Severus Snape in Harry Potter. Paul Bettany did the part justice, with just the right mix of tenderness and selfishness - even though those are contradictory traits. There were things I would have done differently, and there were things they were rushing in from the second book that I would have left alone at this point, but the movie didn't make me cringe the way Twilight did. If you haven't read it (and you are a reader), you MUST pick it up (author is Cornelia Funke). If I ever finish reading Son of a Witch (the sequel to Wicked), I will finally get to Inkdeath (the 3rd, and final book) in the trilogy.
Last but not least, I got my diet instructions in the mail from my doctor's office today. My good cholesterol is low, my bad cholesterol is high and so is my sugar. That means, I'm basically eating dry lettuce from now on. I knew that this was coming and that's part of the change to eating out less, getting into the habit of eating at home more and cooking. I have never been much of a cook, so if anyone has any wonderful recipes to share that are fat free (or low fat) or sugar free, I would love for you to share them with me. I will be going back in for a re-check in early April and right now, I am just finishing up whatever we have in the house. Will start replacing things with the "right" things as I grocery shop.
Poor Hannah was just told at the doctor's office that she is to eat whatever, whenever, because she has lost 7 lbs over the past year and is the bottom 3% for her weight at 61 lbs. Since high cholesterol runs in the women in my family, it wouldn't be awful to keep her in check with that as well though. Of course, the child lives on mac & cheese when all else fails, so I won't keep her from that, but when I can get her to eat healthier, that will be the way to go.
