Hannah tried to talk to "A" on the bus Monday, but "A" brought her iPod and kept her headphones on the entire time on the way to and from school, totally ignoring her. They have assigned seats.
Yesterday, Hannah asked her to play outside during recess and "A" did. Nothing was said about the drama. Hannah's wise to it though, she said she couldn't trust her. Hannah confirmed that I was more upset about the whole thing than she was though. I was just upset for Hannah, didn't want her feelings to be hurt. She's fine. That's an 11 year old for you.
My 10 am appointment rescheduled to next week. It seems like that is happening a lot more lately. I think it goes along with everything else in the economy being up in the air. As a result though, I have this morning to be lazy. I'm thinking about heading out early anyway. I just have 2 1/2 hours of work today with that cancellation.
Volunteered at Hannah's school's book fair yesterday. It was pretty quiet until the end of school when 3 kids came in to buy something they obviously had their eye on. It's funny how many of the books that were on sale there I had read. I told Hannah I thought she would like the Gemma Doyle series that was on sale there when she met up with me after school. I told her a little about it and she said, "I think I'd like that too". She just returned Maximum Ride to the library and was in need of a new book. Heather's going to bring her copy of the first book when she comes tomorrow.
I bought our tickets to see Twilight on Saturday afternoon. The plan is that we go to the movies then we go to the Melting Pot for cheese and chocolate.
It was in the 30s all day yesterday. Hannah was freezing her toes off at horseback riding. I've put a request on freecycle for a winter coat for her to wear when she's at horseback riding. For some reason, Hannah is attracted to the color white (all of her jackets and coats tend to be cream or white colored) and is about as apt to be filthy as I am. I just said that the coat didn't need to be pretty, in good condition, or even for a girl, she just needs something to keep her warm while she's mucking stalls. If I don't hear anything, I will stop at a thrift store and pick something up. She obviously needs new riding boots though. She has had the same ones for the past two years and she said her feet hurt from the cold. Another mom at riding said she had a pair that she thought her daughter outgrew, but for as long as Hannah tends to keep stuff like that, I think we will be okay to buy her a new pair of boots.
Get well, Elissa. :(
