I'm about to get ready for work. Hannah just got on the school bus. Sigh. I woke up at 3 again and couldn't get back to sleep. I am irritated with myself for this new habit that has cropped up.
I probably got back to sleep around 6, when Keith got up. The arrangement this school year has worked out nicely. He gets up and gets ready, leaves at 7. Hannah gets up at 7 and leaves just before 8, then I get ready and leave at 9. I am waiting for the day that I can sleep until it's time for me to get ready again. When she left earlier, Keith would take that duty every so often on the days I wasn't working. I live a pampered life. But seriously. BC (before child), I used to enjoy wearing freshly ironed clothes and fussing over my hair and make up for a long time. Now I am more apt to buy clothes because they look like they will be fine if I don't iron them and I rarely do hair and make up if I'm not going out on official business (work or someplace "special"). I'm wondering when that urge will return, or if it's just part of becoming a comfortably middle aged, married woman.
We all had a great time meeting up with Heather on Sunday. We had little time for anything aside from eating, dropping tokens into the machine that pushes them over the ledge, running to Bath & Body Works so I could use my coupon and then going to see High School Musical 3. I have to say, it wasn't anything nearly as good as the first two. Tons of hype, which was to be expected, for something that was recycled and lukewarm. I don't even think Hannah was super excited about it by the end. Keith took the opportunity to go see some creepy movie with an R or PG-13 rating. His movie started AFTER ours and he got out before us, came and sat in the row. When it was over, he said, "wow, that graduation went on forever!", because the last song he walked in on seemed like it was 20 minutes long.
It is getting colder here now and a lot more of the leaves are changing colors. I need to grab my camera and get a picture before I miss the opportunity. It won't be long before they are falling off the trees instead of decorating the new fall world with reds and golds. I would venture to guess it is getting into the high 30's overnight. During the day we still have temps in the high 60's. I noticed that it was warmer here yesterday, at one point, than it was in FL.
We managed a trip to the pumpkin farm before meeting Heather. Got 2 big and 2 small pumpkins. We have been to the same pumpkin farm every year now, since moving here. 4 years of pumpkins, hard to believe we're working on year #4 as of 2 weeks ago.
Hannah had a great time at her BFF's costume/birthday party/sleepover on Saturday night. I am surprised she made it through Sunday. We got home after leaving the mall close to 8 and she was falling over exhausted.
I have a 10:00 appointment today, but nothing again tomorrow. I am getting lazy with this day off in the middle twice in a row. I already have 2 appointments lined up for next Wed so I know it won't happen again for a bit.
Hannah missed turning in an assignment for lit last Friday and then didn't finish her math homework that was due yesterday. She got the math done before leaving for school yesterday and I "blame" our busy weekend on that. She got an 80 on her progress report in Lit that came home yesterday because that was a 0. She had all 100's and high 90's aside from that. She did it last night when I realized what happened, but I don't know if she will even get partial credit for it, but she needed to do it and I told her if she didn't, no cheerleading practice, putting the emphasis that school comes before activities just as a reminder. Say a little prayer that she's not slipping or falling into some bad habits.
Off to work I go.
