Fall Leaves and Pompeii

As you can see, fall is approaching. We have had a few of the trees just begin to turn color. Usually I wait to get a full effect, but I never know when I will just simply be too late and will have missed the majority of the show. Here is what I have for now.
We took the light rail into uptown Charlotte to go to the Pompeii exhibit before Keith had to drive to Atlanta for work for the next two days.
I was not prepared for how the body casts would effect me. I've always been intrigued by what happened in Pompeii, but seeing these 6 people and 2 animals at the end of their lives in such agony and struggle was very difficult. The artifacts were truly amazing and the way that the casts were able to be formed was interesting as well, but it was very tragic. Even though this is an event that occurred nearly 2000 years ago, that doesn't lessen the horror of it. We were not able to use flash photography so I did the best I could using the light available. Hannah was very depressed as one of the girls didn't look much bigger than she was. This man was huddled in a gymnasium with his back against a wall.
