Yes Val, I have one or two of my own. I usually steer clear of work woes on my blog because it just isn't a good idea for me to delve into that pot, but I'm dealing with some unease in paradise. Don't get me wrong, I still love my job, there's just one particular facet that is causing me MUCH too much grief lately and I'm ready to get it off my plate before something worse becomes of it.
I'm heading to the campus nearer my house today. Have a fun presentation to do this afternoon flanked by some one-on-one appointments. Just dealing with the other "stuff" has me dreading putting my feet on the floor and getting into the shower. I do not fare well with "office" politics and I fear it's unavoidable. I have done well to get by with only one other run in within the past 10 months with this college. That situation has recently had a spin put on it for the better.
Enough of me speaking vaguely about work. It's too hard to follow. It's just something that has me shaken up.
I am thinking of winding down my extra office hours after the spring graduation. That will coincide with the end of some other projects I'm working on and will give me a siesta for the summer with Hannah.
Hannah had horseback riding yesterday and then headed straight to cheerleading for stunt practice. She had a lot of fun with stunting because she's the smallest and lightest, so she got to be picked up and thrown quite a bit. She has plans to continue next year (they will shut down for the school year end or modify the calendar significantly) and wants to really be more involved from the start. She said tae kwon do is definitely OUT for next year, but she wants to continue with horseback riding and will at least finish out her rock climbing contract which will probably end around the holidays since we plan on putting a "freeze" on that over the summer. We just have too much going on most Fridays this summer with little trips, etc, to get her there and it would be a waste of money.
Well, enough stalling the inevitable. I need to get moving.
