Yes, she now is official. After the tears, the frustration, and the preparation, she ended up not being re-tested before the ceremony. I don't know if that is because of the time and effort she put into it since the test or if it was because there simply wasn't time because the color belt testing ran late, or perhaps for another reason altogether, but regardless, Hannah is now a black belt. She is considered a "junior black belt" and has this belt until she turns 13 at which time she will get a solid black belt. Here's Keith holding it up with her name embroidered on it and the one gold stripe for her "first degree". We had a long overdue lunch at O'Charley's after sitting for another 3 hours enduring the process.
