I posted yesterday to let everyone know things were fine, but for some reason this didn't make it live online. I am posting now with an update. I took off the bandages this afternoon and was surprised to find 8 stitches and a much longer incision than I would have imagined. I am a little freaked out that I now have a gash that extends almost 2" when I was expecting something minor. In the grand scheme of things, I know that is minor... It is sore, not sharply painful, but sore. I can definitely tell things are not right in my world. The fact that it inhibits the use of my left arm is a HUGE pain in the rear. I am in the 10% of the world that is left-handed.
My prayer is now that he won't find any other areas that are affected when I go back for the full body check on Oct. 8th and have the stitches removed.
Here's yesterday's post

Just wanted to check in to say that everything went well. It was a strange sensation, as that usually happens with local anesthesia, but it was relatively quick and painless as far as the procedure goes. Over in about 20 minutes. Keith was able to come in and experience the whole ordeal along with me, although from a chair in the corner. I was told that it's about an inch around and there are internal and external stitches. I think that they said 5 outer? I don't know. It was bandaged up and has a plastic pressure dressing on it that I can't take off, so I don't know much about the details.
Keith and I went to lunch at "Red Robin" afterwards. There's one over near the doctor's office, so we figured we'd try it for something different. It was okay. Very nice and clean. It just turned out to be not all that different afterall though. We had cheeseburgers. They were fine.
We came back to the house, I was still numb, but I took some Tylenol and came up to bed to sit and watch some HGTV. I have until 3 to hang out until it's time to pick up Hannah from the after school art program at her school.
So, it was a success. I'm a little tired, a little ... I don't know, emotional isn't the word, but it is somewhat daunting that I had a little spot smaller than the size of a pencil eraser and now I have a deep hole an inch around... It just is upsetting. I know it could have been so much worse and I'm glad that I went to have it checked out, but it's still kind of like "wow". You know?
