Catching up

Hannah just passed the riding portion of the Prix Caprilli qualifying for her "star one" level in dressage. I have no idea what any of that means, but I know that Hannah was excited and she will get to move on to some new things, while building on the foundations she has learned over the past 10 months. Her final show for the tour will be on June 3rd.

I am beside myself with happiness that I no longer have homework consuming every free moment of my time. I have had to do something for the past two years more or less, maybe now I will be able to resume some relaxing hobbies like reading and crafting? Even when I would have a quick break of a week or so in between classes, it seemed like I was still in go mode with something to prepare.

On Friday, I treated myself to a half hour massage during lunch. It was probably one of the better ideas I've had in a while. I decided to just give a place not too far away from the university a try and the price seemed right. I spent the weekend cleaning up the downstairs thoroughly, moving furniture, polishing floors and rubbing leather conditioning stuff into the living room set. I did a little bit of scrapbooking on Friday late afternoon, but realized that I need to organize my space before I can do any serious stuff. I spend more time looking for supplies than I do actually working on a page.

Things are soooooo slow at the college right now. I am counting down - 7 days of work after today. This was my last full week of work. Next week, I have off for Memorial Day on the 28th and then Friday is June 1st, and my first day as a free woman for the next two months. I am not dealing well with the quiet and the inactivity at work, but when I get antsy, I just remind myself that it won't be for much longer.
