Good Morning

Last night, Keith said he heard Hannah crying when he got up to use the restroom. It was around 2 am and he went into her room and she said she had an earache that was a 10 on a scale of 1-10. He woke me up to find out what he should give her. I just went in to see about getting her up for either horseback riding or a trip to the doctor. She was not happy about either, so I'm just going to leave her alone for a bit.

I had a pretty uneventful birthday afternoon. I appreciated the gift cards to Dunkin Donuts from my co-workers, it's such a treat when I stop to get coffee there and they know how much I love it. I took time to go to lunch, which is rather rare lately. I went to one restaurant that is a favorite for studying and reading and worked on what I need to know for Tuesday night.

I had a lot going on at work, even though it was quiet, so I missed some personal phone calls. I was returning a call to Keith to check on our dinner plans as I was leaving for the day and he wished me a happy birthday and asked if I got the flowers and cake he sent. I hadn't heard anything about it, so I went across campus to the mail room - which was closed. I headed back to my office to listen to my voice mail, but just had one call from him waiting, nothing about having a delivery. Keith called 1-800-FLOWERS to find out what happened because he placed an order in early April and was charged for it. Apparently, they sent it to a florist 70 miles away, didn't bother to correct that and therefore it was too far away to deliver. So, a half hour later, some customer service chick called and apologized and told me that it was their fault and that my husband had planned something for me, they just messed it up....... okaaaayyyy....

We had a great time at The Melting Pot for dinner. Sitting on our table when we arrived were half a dozen pink roses surrounded by prickly thistle type flowers. They had nothing to do with the 1-800-FLOWERS mix up. It was just Keith and The Melting Pot doing the extras that made my birthday great yesterday evening. He got me a pair of earrings and a new digital camera. He heard something I said when The Homs were here, and thought I wanted a new one. This is the one that he got me. I don't really know a lot about digital cameras. If it was a SLR that used film like in the "olden days", I would have a clue. This is the one that I have now. Anyone with a better understanding care to comment? I do see the the megapixels with the new one is 6 and the old one is 3.2, so I know that effects the resolution. Anything else?

So, speaking of photos, here is a picture of me serving up Mai Tais at work on Monday and a picture of Hannah's outfit for "Tacky Day" on Thursday.

In other news, I was given the okay to go to CKU Nashville in August with my mom and two aunts. Anyone else planning on going? I called my mom on the way home from dinner last night and she seemed happy. This will be the 4th year that we have gone together, so I hated to break the tradition.

Well, I'm going to think about starting my day. Here it is an hour and several "things" later from the time I started this update.

One last thing: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!!!! My little sister's birthday is tomorrow. :)
