Testing and more testing

Today the day started out with Keith going for his 6 month CT scan. I have been trying to avoid thinking about it and did a pretty good job until I was driving home from work. As long as I keep busy, I don't obsess. Luckily, I had a busy-ish day, had lunch with a co-worker, and didn't allow myself the luxury of letting my mind wander. Now begins the waiting. Hopefully, they will call in the next day or so just to give us the all clear. Keith can't remember when his next appointment is, but he THINKS it's in April. Doesn't he realize that this is important? Sheesh. Men.

So, I left work early today because my little girl was testing for her deputy black belt. She did very well. She fights so pretty, if that is possible.
She really just has a lot of grace and control in her spinning kicks, it's almost like dancing, but a lot more violent, lol. The grand finale was that she had to break a board that was a lot thicker and harder than the others she has had to break up to this point. When she tests for her black belt, she will actually have to break a cement slab. This is close to the equivalent. She managed to get it on the 3rd try. She has a new uniform now that has the black and red collar to match her belt. I got it more because she lost her pants and was wearing some that were in her cubby - a size too small and way past her ankles, like capri pants. She needed pants that fit properly. I took them home and put her name inside everything with permanent marker. Won't make that mistake twice.

She didn't do so hot on her report card. She got a 73 in math, which is a D here. She didn't do as well in reading as she could have because she doesn't stay on top of her notebook. It wasn't tragic, but it wasn't great. We are just going to have to keep a closer eye on her homework because it is dragging her grades down.

I got an A in my marriage and family class. My grade for counseling in the school system still hasn't been posted.

We had an awesome weekend in Atlanta with Katie. The Game Ranch was great. There weren't as many squirrels and chipmunks around to feed so we had a lot of peanuts leftover, but it was a great time. Katie found a donkey that we ended up dubbing "Juan Valdez", he was a cutie. He liked to be hand fed his carrots, whereas the other donkey preferred them to be dropped in his bowl. The bunnies were sweet, the deers weren't hungry, the goats were starving... it was just a nice outing. It ended too soon.

On Sunday evening I'm going with L and his mom to Winter Jam 2007 and I'm just completely excited. Jeremy Camp and Sanctus Real are going to be performing and they are two of my favorites. There are some other great artists performing as well, but those are the two I am most looking forward to! Tickets are only being sold at the door, so I'm hoping it's not TOO insane and that we will be able to get seats. If you would like to hear my favorite Sanctus Real song, it's on my MySpace page at The BunnSpace. Warning, it's a little loud, don't be startled.
