nothing good

There is no way to keep up with the yard and it's starting to show. Of course, it is mowed, edged, and "presentable" as Keith calls it. He doesn't like the look of trimmed hedges and our house really calls for it, so we are at an impasse. He called a landscape company and they are supposed to come give an estimate. The people before us had planted many many many flower beds with shrubbery (you must bring us --- a shrubbery! - slightly higher with a two level effect with a little path running down the middle -- Ni! :) A little Monty Python would be nice today!

Anyway, if I had my choice, there wouldn't be any bushes and I would just have two small flower beds with actual flowers in them.

Our yard is smaller than it was in FL, it is cooler here, you would think the yard work would go easier than it does.

We finished edging off the single wall. I would have just painted the area with the fireplace blue, but once we hang the TV there, there won't be much of the wall visible. I'm looking forward to painting the rest of the downstairs now (tan) because the new paint really makes the walls we haven't painted yet look dingy. We had someone come yesterday to give an estimate on mounting the television over the fireplace (where the picture is right now) and doing all of the electrical and hooking up the electronics once and for all.

We went looking for furniture pieces to go on either side of the fireplace last night and came home empty handed. I really need bookshelves, but we also need a spot to put the electronics stuff for the VCR and whatnot. We are also in the market for a new bed. Keith was certain a waterbed was the way to go several years ago and now he's certain that he hates the waterbed and if we just had a king sized regular bed all would be well. We didn't find anything on that account either. Mattresses are just crazy expensive!

I feel like my weekend is gone already. We didn't do much. Watched Spanglish yesterday. I really liked it. Sad movie though.

Okay, off to take a shower so I can run to the store. Have a great week.

I can't believe that you are shopping for a bed again! LOL! It seems like you two have gone through many and we still have the same one. :( We need a new one - a king!

I understand the yard issues, you know that. Hang in there with you. You are a good gardener. Do what makes YOU happy.
