I meant to mention... for those of you who need to know, Keith and I changed our cell phones over to Charlotte area phone numbers yesterday. After the call from Hannah's teacher the other week when Hannah had strep, we made the decision to get local numbers when our new phones arrived in the mail (since we'd have to start a new contract for that). We still have Nextel with the direct connect and were told our direct connect would remain the same (but I don't know how that will work?), but our numbers are now 704 area code.
Hannah's school won't let the teachers call long distance, only local numbers. With me leaving for work at 8, I wouldn't get a call until I arrived at work until 8:40ish, Hannah could have needed us almost an hour at that point, and then I'm still a half hour away and would need to drive back to get her. I was just lucky that her teacher managed to borrow someone's cell phone and got me before I left the neighborhood the other morning to call me on my long distance number. I was able to pick her up and make her doctor's appointment before I pulled away from the school within 5 minutes of getting the call.
So, long story short, you can't reach us on our Lakeland numbers anymore. If you need our home number or cell phone numbers, please drop me an e-mail. We can always call you free because we have Vonage at home, so if someone wants to chat without running up their bill, you can call and then we can call you right back.
