I finished my assignment. That was a lot less painful than going to class all of today. It was so much fun having the Ponchaks here. They need to move across the street from us here!
Hannah spent the rest of the day playing with "M" and another little boy that lives behind her. I think it was a good distraction for Mary & Anna leaving today. The other thing that made their departure easier to handle is the fact that we will be heading to Florida this Friday! We will probably be there some time Saturday later in the afternoon, depending on how the trip goes. I'm going to try to stop for the night around Jacksonville and see a friend from HS and her son for breakfast before finishing the drive down. We will just have to see how it goes.
On to other news. I was offered the Assistant Director position on a 10 month basis per year on Wed. I haven't given my decision yet. I know they were looking for me to let them know something immediately, but it's a big step for me, the salary and benefits aren't all that great... I just don't feel settled about the trade off of that for my time with Hannah in the afternoons. Please pray for me as I attempt to come up with an answer. I was hoping to hear back from the benefits person at the college to get more information before I had to decide. She has been busy though, so I still don't have all of the facts. Right now, I'm a 10 month employee, but I'm not full time, so I still have so much control over my day. I am just having a hard time with this.
I can't remember if I posted the issues we had with the movers. My great-grandmother's furniture was delivered from NY last week at around 3 AM!!! It was complete insanity, but I am glad to have it here now, and I'm glad that we were able to provide a comfortable place for our guests to sleep. I'm going to be "detailing" it over the weeks, cleaning every crack, taking off the drawer pulls and scrubbing them with a toothbrush... Trying to make it look like it did when it was in my room 17 years ago. We made up the bed with the comforter we bought when we were living in Atlanta and it just looks so nice with the light blue paint.
I used the extra dresser to put all of Hannah's video tapes in, and it's in the loft. The videos always looked kind of cluttered, so just having this nice piece of furniture to use makes the room look more together.
I need to get a picture or two for the walls. I'm sure that I have something, I just have to shift things around and it will all come out fine.
