I spent most of Monday sleeping off this cold sort of crud that I have. It seems to have reached it's highest point on Monday. Yesterday I was doing better. Still not really great, but better. I have been dealing with sinus pressure and a headache that just won't give up from that.
Today I'm back in the saddle though. I have more than my fair share of laundry and dishes. It's so hard to keep the house clean. With the clutter that is still laying around from unpacking, everyone seems to think a candy wrapper, dirty dish, or dirty clothes on the floor will just blend in. It's like a treasure hunt going off to find all of the dishes to load the dishwasher, then to find all of the dirty clothes to throw them in the wash.
The most awesome news is that tomorrow is Thanksgiving and, even better still, Keith has off 4 days! I'm so excited as it seems that so much of my day is spent alone doing house stuff. There are things that I need a second pair of hands for to get them done and whatnot. I am hoping we find something fun to do though!
The menu for tomorrow is:
* Celery stuffed with cream cheese (a Christensen traditional appetizer)
* Turkey for 3
* Green beans
* Corn
* Mashed potatoes for Keith and I
* Gravy (if I can't manage, I bought a can as back up)
* A sweet potato for Hannah
* Stuffing for Keith
* Rolls
* Pumpkin pie for Keith and Hannah
* "Real" apple cider
It's funny how we don't all like the same things, but I am going to try to cook a little of everything for everyone to make it a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The only thing I have no portion control over is Mr. Turkey. The grocery store didn't have much variety and I had to buy the store brand. If I didn't have my mind set on making A turkey, I probably would have opted for a chicken or maybe just a turkey breast. I would have loved to have made a bunch of side dishes, but we just won't eat them all.
Hannah has an idea that she's going to make a turkey centerpiece using an apple and some leaves. We'll see how it comes out.
