Good afternoon! I hope everyone is doing fine after a possible sugar rush let down. Hannah managed to travel the entire neighborhood last night with the exception of the townhomes on the first block into the subdivision. We were just running out of time and energy. I don't know how she managed, but she ran from house to house. At one point, she took off her hat and handed me her broom because they were slowing me down and someone asked her, "Are you a judge?" hehehe Well, at least judges make more money than witches. I didn't want her to have a scary costume, or a sexy one for that matter (what are they thinking with kids' costumes anyway!?), so she got to wear my trimmed down graduation robe from USF. Yeah, I guess that would look like a judge.
Had the scare of a lifetime when I couldn't find Hannah last night. I told her she and C. could go to the house three down from us while we were waiting for Keith to get home. She saw her friend, A., and her mom, and they started walking with them. Luckily, we caught up to them. I told Hannah she can't play with C. for a week. C. is much too impulsive and grown up for 6. She alone can scare me. If Keith hadn't convinced me that Hannah misunderstood, well, actually he didn't have me convinced... but if Keith hadn't been convinced that it was a misunderstanding, Hannah would have had the last of her Halloween when he found her.
We had about 40 trick or treaters. Most of them were of the appropriate age. Less than half a dozen teens, I'd say. I gave them all lots of candy anyway. What are we going to do with it? As it was, Hannah filled two huge popcorn style bowls to the point of overflow with her own treats.I told Keith to call in the cats before bed and he ended up calling in a 5th cat! I think it belonged to someone up at the top of the hill from us because it looked ticked off and confused when it responded to Keith's calling. I tried to walk it back home again.
No takers for George. I don't know why. I really thought people would claim him last night. I actually won't call him George, that would be too much like owning him. I just refer to him as "the orange cat".
I'm currently looking for online degree programs for my MA in counseling or my MBA in human resources. My best bet for counseling is UNC-Charlotte, but it's a traditional program. There aren't any non-traditional programs for working people in the area. I couldn't imagine going back to school full time during the day. I want to return to work at least part time while Hannah's in school, preferably full time. Today was the last information session offered at UNCC and I decided that probably wasn't the route I wanted to pursue at this time.
