Good Morning

I made a pretty whiney entry last night and I decided it wouldn't do me much good to just whine "out loud" to any of my friends of colleagues that may check in on my blog from time to time. Yesterday is over, today is here. I'm going to make today a better day than yesterday.

Good news from yesterday, I made beef stew in the slow cooker and it came out perfect. You know what I mean? It was broth, but it was gravy. Not too heavy, not too thin. The right ratio of veggies and meat... I was fair chuffed by the outcome. They sell "petite" loaves of bread at the grocery store's bakery, so I got some 7 grain bread to go with it... yum. Hannah and Keith are white bread kind of people. I love "good" bread though with soups, etc. I was glad to see a smaller loaf.

My pudding didn't come out as good. I don't know what happened. I don't think I screwed anything up... or did I?

Last night I thought I heard the neighbors' dog barking so I went to the back door and there was a pretty light orange cat out there. He was really sweet and wanted to come in. Since it was cold, we put some flea meds on him and let him in. He was snuggling and loving on all of us. We kept him in Hannah's bathroom for the night and put him back out this AM. He obviously belongs to someone, he's declawed as well, but it was so cold out that I hated to leave him out there.

Before Hannah got up this AM to put out the visiting cat, Keith came into the bedroom carrying Maisy! I was SOOOOOOOOO excited. I am just too attached to that cat. Through all of Keith's health problems, etc. Maisy was always there to sleep on my head and let me cry when I wouldn't let it out around anyone else.

Yes, I'm glad to have her home.

So, despite the fact that I was awake and praying for her safe return from 3 until 6 am... I'm up, Hannah's at school, and I have a day of unpacking ahead of me. No service calls today, nothing on the schedule. Just a quiet day. That's why I said, today is going to be much better.
