We woke up this morning to a hot house. From the amount of rain we've been getting, we discovered the drain pipe to the A/C was blocked and water -instead of draining out - backed up into the ductwork of the house. It restricted the air flow from the intake in the house. I ended up having to go under the house with a butcher knife and stabbing the duct so it could drain, while Keith called the A/C repair man who came and cleaned it all out. It was unreal. I am glad that it's taken care of though and that we should be good for the rest of the hurricane season. I tell you what, I'm sick of rain and we've only just begun.
We were out in the pool before noon this AM and ended up with burns. I wasn't out there as long as Hannah and Keith because I was doing homework, but I couldn't bear the sound of them having fun out there without me, so I headed out as well.
Well, I am up to 11 out of 15 pages on my paper, so I'm feeling pretty good about things. For me, getting started is the hardest part. I will have a lot of revision to do, but I will have the rough draft finished up by tomorrow and should be well on my way to have the final copy done by next Sunday (when I get back from CKU).
I was just turning a little green looking at Valerie's scrap space pictures. My own little nook in the living room looks more like a junk pile than a nook. I was just asking Keith today that if a move isn't in our future, can we please do a little bit of work back here to turn this more into a home office/craft space than a mish mash with the computer in the middle of it. We have Hannah's old dresser back here and the drawer face won't stay put. There's an old bookshelf (another WalMart special) and a baker's rack with a zillion of Hannah's videos on it. All of my scrap stuff in an armoire in the living room that is meant to hold a computer. It's just time to purge and merge -- make things work a little bit better for what we need.
There are few things that I enjoy more than a family afternoon nap. Today we all piled into the bed for an hour around 4 pm and took a nice nap. I do have a hard time sleeping with Hannah AND Keith in the bed at night, but during the afternoon, when it's not a big deal and it's just for an hour, I think it strengthens our family bond. I suppose if we were a more active family, going skiing or something would do the same. I am satisfied with our every so often family nap though.
Speaking of family outings, I'm getting the itch for a cruise! Since it's hurricane season, we could probably get a deal. Need to stick around for another couple of weeks and see what God has in store for us in the career world... If things are uneventful, I am going to go ahead and book something, even if it's just a three day out of Cape Canaveral. It doesn't take us long to get there and we can just completely tune out the rest of the world while we are on the ship. No mess with driving, airports, etc. Keith and I have even said, if we did a Bahamas cruise or something similar, since we've already been, we could just enjoy the ship while everyone else is out exploring the port. Sounds great to me. Funny how we had never been on one, and then we went on two just nine months apart. I'm spoiled. It has been 9 months since the last one!!! Of course, a Disney cruise would just be IT for me, but I think it would be interesting to try a different cruise line??? I dunno. I still come back to the thought that we haven't tried the western Carribean cruise yet for Disney. Hmmm... That's SEVEN days. Wow... Just thinking about it makes me happy!

Ah a cruise sounds delish doesn't it? They are just so relaxing and such a nice way to "get away"
Man you almost have that paper done! Awesome!
When I ink I hold the inkpad in my right hand and the paper upside down over the ink pad. Everyone else seemed to hold the inkpad over the paper. Does that make any sense at all?
Ah I love my ribbon jars! They make me smile just looking at them.
I didn't take the storm pictures. Someone I work with brought them in. Her BF was down there the next day checking on property. That is where Chris' last route was! I think that is why it has hit me so hard! Those pictures were taken about 45 miles away!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Valerie
